The Bal Va Mahila Chetna Samiti, in collaboration with the Association for India’s Development and Direct Action for Women Now, organized a one-day workshop on the prevention of violence against women in Baneda.

At the beginning of the program, organization president Tara Ahluwalia, describing women as equal citizens of society, said, “Women are human beings and the Constitution has granted them equal rights. However, due to patriarchal thinking, women are still victims of exploitation and second-class status in society.”

Tara Ahluwalia provided detailed information to the women present on the Domestic Violence Act 2005, the Rajasthan Witchcraft Prevention Act, and the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) Act.

Bhavna Joshi, an organization worker, provided information on the procedures, support services, and complaint registration at the Sakhi Center and Women’s Counseling and Protection Center.

Block coordinator Shyam Lal discussed the rights and duties of citizens enshrined in the Constitution and urged women to be vigilant about their rights.
