About Us

Bal Va Mahila Chetna Samiti (BMCS) is a non-profit organisation based in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, India.

BMCS has been spreading awareness and distributing relief materials during the COVID-19 crisis, including cooked meals and dry ration kits, gloves, face masks, Personal Protective Equipment Kits and sanitiser to those living in the most untouched and marginalized areas in and around Bhilwara.

The NGO was registered in 1993 and has since been working for the welfare of marginalised women and children who suffer from different forms of discrimination and violence.

For the last two-and-a-half decade, BMCS has rescued thousands of survivors, provided them with shelter and counselling aid, and secured justice for the victims of domestic violence, rape, and witch-hunting.

The nonprofit has also been proactively working for the welfare of women bidi workers who suffer from occupational health hazards, low wage, and the lack of alternative livelihood.

The organisation is committed to the empowerment of rural women and uses community and policy advocacy, research, campaigns, and legal counselling for their welfare as well as to shape inclusive policies and programmes aimed at marginalized communities from a gender perspective.
