A one-day workshop was organized in village Akodia on social evils like child marriage, Aata-Sata and Naata-Pratha under the joint aegis of Bal and Mahila Chetna Samiti and Direct Action for Women Now.  About 50 rural women actively participated in this workshop.

 
The organization president Tara Ahluwalia, while highlighting the ill effects of these practices in detail, said that childhood, education and health of girls are affected by child marriage. Evils like Aata-Sata and Naata Pratha promote inequality in the society and exploitation of women. She appealed to all the rural women to play an active role in ending these evil practices.

During the workshop, student Varsha Soni expressed her views and emphasized on the education and self-reliance of girls. Nandu Salvi shared his experiences while sharing the ill effects of child marriage.
