A one-day workshop on the topic “We and our constitutional rights” was organized by Under the joint aegis of Bal and Mahila Chetna Samiti and Direct Action For Woman Now at Bhilwara Dairy on Monday. In the workshop, committee chairperson Tara Ahluwalia highlighted the importance of the Constitution.

In the workshop, the main speaker and writer Bhanwar Meghwanshi, while talking about the primitive system of the Indian society, the need for the Constitution, the history of the making of the Constitution and the values mentioned in the Preamble of the Constitution, said in his address that “The Constitution itself is such a book. Which develops the feeling of seeing man as a human being and eliminates discrimination and untouchability, the rights that citizens have today are behind the years of struggle.” He said that the Constitution of India is not only the largest in the world. It is a written constitution but it is also unique because it has inculcated the values of equality, liberty, fraternity and justice among the people. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect such a constitution.

At the beginning of the workshop, all the participants divided into two groups and had a group discussion. During the workshop, everyone was shown a copy of the original Constitution and the values mentioned in the Preamble of the Constitution were explained in detail.

Joint Secretary of the committee, PUCL District President Rakesh Sharma, District President of Ambedkar Welfare Society Sohan Lal Bhojpuria, Shaitan Regar and Pooja from Brick Kiln Mazdoor Union, Ashok Meghvanshi of Rural Awareness Society and Advocates Lalita, Vimala, Balu Lal, Farooq Pathan, Bhavana were present in the programme.
