On July 11, 2026, the ‘Bal va Mahila Chetna Samiti’ organized a one-day workshop for adolescent girls at the Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School in Suwana, focusing on the prevention of gender-based violence.
Tara Ahluwalia, the organization’s president, outlined the group’s 33-year journey of driving social change and highlighted its ongoing efforts to combat violence against women and children.

Subject matter expert Shashi Prabha, visiting from Udaipur, used creative activities and interactive discussions to delve deeply into the issues of gender-based discrimination, the resulting violence and its various forms, and the impact this has on the lives of adolescent girls. In her address, she remarked, “Gender-based violence against girls begins even before birth and persists throughout their lives.”
School Principal Saroj Laddha thanked the organization for raising awareness among the students about such a crucial topic, noting that it would benefit their future; she also requested the organization to conduct similar workshops on sensitive issues in the future.
School lecturer Sunita Joshi, organization members Priti, Aahuti, Rinku Kanwar, Shyamlal, Vishal, and Parmesh,  Bhawana, were present during the workshop.
