A one-day workshop on prevention of violence against women was organized in Azad Nagar, Bhilwara under the joint aegis of Bal va Mahila Chetna Samiti and Direct Action for Women Now. 60 Anganwadi workers participated in this workshop.

The program started with the inspirational speech of the committee’s president Mrs. Tara Ahluwalia, in which she emphasized the need for collective efforts to stop violence against women at the grassroots level.
The keynote speaker Advocate Rajkumar Sharma gave detailed information about various legal provisions related to women’s rights including Domestic Violence Act 2005, Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act 2013. He told the Anganwadi workers how they can help the victimized women and provide them legal support.


On this occasion, CDPO Kalpana Malav also addressed the workers and said that Anganwadi workers are an important link in the prevention of violence against women and they should remain vigilant in their area and work with sensitivity. The objective of the program was to sensitize Anganwadi workers on the issue of violence against women, equip them with legal information and create a respectful environment towards women at the community level.
