A one-day workshop on constitutional values was organized at PM SHRI Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Bapu Nagar, under the joint auspices of Bal Va Mahila Chetna Samiti and Direct Action for Women Now. Students undergoing skill training at the school and staff members participated in the event. Tara Ahluwalia, the organization’s president, delivered a talk on ways to incorporate the values of the Indian Constitution into one’s daily life. Highlighting the rights enshrined in the Constitution and human values, she explained that the Constitution empowers us to live freely, rising above societal constraints. Organization member Parmesh used a game-based activity to help participants easily understand the Constitution and learn how to apply its principles in their lives. Shyam Lal, another member of the organization, shed light on the drafting of the Constitution and the role of the Drafting Committee. At the end of the session, a quiz was conducted; the girls participated enthusiastically, answering questions and pledging to adopt the values of the Indian Constitution in their lives. Seven winners of the quiz were presented with copies of the Constitution by Bal-o-Mahila Chetna Samiti. Additionally, organization members Bhawana, Aahuti, Preeti, and Rinku Kanwar gathered feedback on the workshop through a ‘sticky notes’ activity. Scout and Guide students, camp coordinator Kanta Ji, and organization member Vishal also made active contributions to the workshop.
